Overview

The httpcli package uses the Ginkgo v2 and Gomega testing framework for behavior-driven development (BDD) style tests. The test suite covers HTTP client creation, DNS mapping, transport configuration, and error handling.

Test Framework

Ginkgo/Gomega

The package uses Ginkgo v2 for test structure and Gomega for assertions.

Test Organization Principles

1. One file per component: Keep test files focused
2. Logical grouping: Use Describe/Context for organization
3. Clear naming: Descriptive test names

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

1. Port Conflicts in Tests

Symptom: Tests fail with "address already in use"

Cause: Multiple test suites trying to use the same port

Solution: The test suite now uses dynamic port allocation via GetFreePort():
